The DLUHC have consistently argued that the 5 week deposit cap is ample to cover pet damage too, but we suspected this wasn’t the case, and have teamed up with the NRLA (with 90,000 landlord members), Propertymark (18,000 lettings agencies) and LandlordZONE (nearly 1 million readership) to produce and promote our What’s the Damage? Survey. We’re asking questions about type of damage experienced (pet, child, adult), average costs, method of recovery and preferred solution to the pets in rented accommodation crisis, and overlaying that with average weekly rents and portfolio size. Watch this space!
