It’s 8.31am on Wednesday 15th June, when we’re alerted to some breaking news : the Daily Mail are running a “leaked” story that the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities will be publishing the long-awaited Renters Reform white paper the very next day, and there’s some very exciting developments re the legal stance on pets. Tenants are to be given the right to have a pet, which a landlord must not unreasonably refuse, AND landlords are to be allowed to request pet damage insurance as a permitted payment under the Tenant Fees Act, which is a key recommendation taken directly from our Heads for Tails! campaign! WOO HOO!!!
